Malte Dold

Malte Dold is an Associate Professor in the Economics Department at Pomona College in California. During the2025–26 academic year, he is on leave for a research fellowship in the Department of Economics at New YorkUniversity. Malte received his PhD from the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg in 2018. He was an Adam SmithFellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University during the 2016–17 and 2017–18 academic years. Hisresearch focuses on normative and methodological questions in behavioral economics, as well as the history ofwelfare economics and ordoliberal economic thought. His articles have been published in prestigious journalsincluding Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of InstitutionalEconomics, Cambridge Journal of Economics, Journal of Economic Methodology, Public Choice, and BehavioralPublic Policy.
